Creating and maintaining a positive environment in our organization is one of Jameeka’s great abilities, and shows her passion for company culture. Lizzy Wolking is a senior at Northern Kentucky University completing a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. When she is not studying or dedicating time at her job, Lizzy can be found volunteering with children through reading programs around the Greater Cincinnati area. Lizzy first started at Education at Work in July of 2014 beginning first as a call center agent, then gained the position of a student recruiter, and was then promoted to her current position as associate for our financial services client.

Lizzy’s career goal post-college is to work with Pre-K children at a daycare or elementary school. Lizzy decided to apply at EAW because she pays for college herself. Although she was given a scholarship to her university, about half of her tuition was not covered. By working for Education at Work she is able to pay off college through our tuition assistance program, and will graduate debt-free. Upon working for our company, Lizzy admired the work ethic and attitude of our employees. She has built many friendships with her supervisors. Lizzy truly enjoys our company culture and positive, student-centered environment.

So far Lizzy’s experiences here have prepared her for the real world by advancing her communication and professional skills. The confidence and financial support of Lizzy’s experience here has set her on a path to success in any field she chooses. In fact, Lizzy has enjoyed working with our financial service client so much so that she is considering a full-time post-graduate position with the company! Students like her are the reason we offer experiential learning in the fields of study that are most applicable to our students.

Lizzy is a remarkable student who has set the tone for success and prosperity in the mission and values of our company. She exemplifies confidence and passion in her work and is a great role model to other students in our program. We are so fortunate to have Lizzy on our team!

Laura Forero is a senior at Xavier University completing her studies for a bachelor’s degree in public relations and advertising. Laura began working for Education at Work in January of 2015 starting out first as an auditing agent for government issued phones. She was then promoted to a position as a student recruiter, and then to her current position as a marketing assistant. Laura’s post-graduate career plans are to find a full-time position that complements her desire to make a difference. Laura excels both professionally and academically, while also dedicating time to extra-curricular activities such as Asi es Columbia dance group, traveling, and writing.

Laura found out about Education at Work through other students who were discussing our tuition assistance program. She decided to join our team so that she could have the opportunity to gain both professional and experiential learning. Earning money towards tuition has brought confidence to her studies and reassurance that upon graduation she will be able to conquer her college debt. Laura enjoys working within her department as she assists with writing, designing, and implementing branding strategies.

Her favorite thing about working here, besides our tuition assistance program, is the flexibility EAW offers her. She enjoys the freedom to format her work schedule around her studies. EAW has prepared her for the real world by giving her professional advice and the opportunity to work in the marketing field prior to graduation. She is truly thankful for the ability to already have an established professional portfolio. Outside of her success in our company, Laura has enjoyed being able to implement her skills in the classes she is taking academically. This makes her more valuable and sought-after to her potential future employers.

Laura provides our company with exceptional visionary skills that help set us apart from our competitors. Her excitement and drive to give 100% to her job builds a healthy company culture for EAW. We are excited for Laura’s career ventures post-graduation and truly wish the best for her as she goes out to make her mark on the world!
